Dividend Freedom — Dávid Sólyomi
A ten-year-old Hungarian boy, in a strange childhood moment, dreams that one day he will have enough money to live off the interest. He doesn't know what interest actually is. He just feels the feeling — that somehow, someday, he wants to be in a position where money comes on its own while he lives. That same year his parents divorce, and overnight two brutally different financial realities open up before him. On one side, his kindergarten-teacher mother. On the other, his father who will later become a successful entrepreneur. The child sees two things clearly. He does not want poverty. But he also does not want the smile-less father fighting every day for money. That's when the resolve is born that still guides him today. He wants to earn a lot of money. He is willing to work very hard for it. But only so that one day he won't have to.
This man is Dávid Sólyomi, author of *Dividend Freedom*. Economics university, Portfolio.hu, his own business, long years in every corner of the Hungarian investment market. Then, summer 2011, a vacation in Egypt. He buys Robert Kiyosaki's first two books — the ones his former colleagues dismissed as trash. He expects nothing, just wants something entertaining to read. Already on the plane back, he can barely contain himself. The thoughts and goals laid out in that first book are exactly what he imagined at age ten. Finally, in an organized form, he sees what he actually wants and needs to do. Over five years, and several hundred English-language investment books, the system assembles in his mind. That became *osztalekportfolio.com*. That became this book. And that became the question you now have to ask yourself: what if your money could work so you didn't have to?
